In the autumn of 2008 Spectrum aims to set up
a new LGBT Drugs & Alcohol Working
Group to support coordination between
agencies and sectors in addressing substance misuse
in the LGBT communities and improving access and
support to LGBT people with dependency needs. |
|
An
inter-agency LGBT
Drugs Working Group was originally set up by
Spectrum in 2005 which presented findings on
LGBT drugs use to our Forum
on Health & Well-Being in July 2006.
It was agreed to reconvene a wroking group following
publication of the Count Me In Too findings.
|
|
"Reduce
the harm caused by drug and alcohol use e.g. develop closer
links with the substance misuse service, extending the safer
dancing project to LGBT venues and producing culturally
appropriate harm reduction information"
